Pitch Marking Nozzle & Assembly Guide | Stainless Steel & Flat Fan Nozzles Ireland

The definitive guide to pitch marking nozzles, assembly specs and robotic marker speed settings. Using the wrong nozzle is one of the most common and costly mistakes in pitch marking — it causes poor line quality, blocked machines and wasted paint. This guide tells you exactly which nozzle, filter and seal to use with every Pitchmark paint and machine combination.

Nozzle Types Explained

Flat Fan Nozzle

Flat fan nozzles produce a wide, fan-shaped spray pattern ideal for marking clean, straight lines with concentrate paints. The most common nozzle type for standard pedestrian spray markers. Available in two sizes:

  • Green F110-015 — standard flow, for Clubline, Lumen, Clubline Blue, Elements 4:1
  • Yellow F110-020 — higher flow rate, recommended for Extreme White due to its higher concentration

Stainless Steel (S/S) Nozzle

Stainless steel nozzles are used with ready-to-use paints (Edge, Direct, Ecoline+). More durable than plastic nozzles and designed to handle the viscosity of RTU paints. Available in four sizes: Number 2, 3, 4 and 6 — each suited to different paint types and marking applications. NOT compatible with concentrate paints mixed with water.

Misting / Atomising Nozzle (Bayonet Cap)

The misting nozzle bayonet cap is the outer cap that holds the stainless steel nozzle in place on Pitchmark Eco markers. It produces an ultra-fine atomised spray, allowing Ecoline+ to mark a full-size pitch with just 1.5L of paint. Not compatible with concentrate paints.

Stainless Steel Nozzle Assembly Guide

Each stainless steel nozzle assembly consists of four components. The correct combination depends on which paint you are using and whether you are doing an initial mark or an over-mark (re-marking existing lines).

Application Paint S/S Nozzle Filter Seal Cap
Over Mark (re-marking existing lines) Direct / Edge Number 4 Blue 50 Mesh Filter Rubber Seal Misting Nozzle Bayonet Cap
Initial Mark (marking fresh grass) Direct / Edge Number 6 Blue 50 Mesh Filter Rubber Seal Misting Nozzle Bayonet Cap
Over Mark (re-marking existing lines) Ecoline+ Number 2 Green 100 Mesh Filter Rubber Seal Misting Nozzle Bayonet Cap
Initial Mark (marking fresh grass) Ecoline+ Number 3 Green 100 Mesh Filter Rubber Seal Misting Nozzle Bayonet Cap

Key Assembly Rules

  • Direct & Edge — always use the Blue 50 Mesh Filter
  • Ecoline+ — always use the Green 100 Mesh Filter
  • Over-marking (re-marking existing white lines) = Number 4 for Direct/Edge, Number 2 for Ecoline+
  • Initial marking (marking fresh grass) = Number 6 for Direct/Edge, Number 3 for Ecoline+
  • Always include the Rubber Seal and Misting Nozzle Bayonet Cap in every assembly

Robotic Marker Speed & Nozzle Chart

For robotic line markers running Edge paint, the correct nozzle and paint consumption depends on your machine model and operating speed. Use this chart to select the right S/S nozzle number and estimate paint usage (litres per full-size pitch).
